ASME SA299 Carbon Steel

ASME SA299 material is a manganese-silicon carbon steel plate for use in welder boilers and other pressure vessels. ASME SA299 pressure vessel plates under this specification are produced in two grades: SA299 Gr.A and SA299 Gr.B. ASME SA299 is widely used for manufacturing pressure and boiler equipments. Plates of this standard under this thickness of 50 mm are normally supplied in as-rolled condition. Plates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both. Plates over 50 mm in thickness shall be normalized.

Heat Treatment:

ASME SA299 plates 2 inch [50mm] and under in thickness are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. Plates may be ordered normalized or stress relieved, or both.  ASME SA299 steel plates products over 2 inch  [50mm] in thickness shall be normalized.
