ASTM A299 material is a manganese-silicon carbon steel plate for use in welder boilers and other pressure vessels. ASTM A299 pressure vessel plates under this specification are produced in two grades. The steel shall be killed and shall conform to the fine austenitic grain size requirement. Tension test shall be made to conform to the requirements. There are two grades A299 Grade A, and A299 Grade B under ASTM A299 specification.
