Alloy 6B also known as Cobalt Stellite 6B or is a cobalt-base alloy with excellent corrosion resistance to severe conditions and high temperatures. Alloy 6B is used for doctor blades, valve parts, pump plungers, knives, and bearings. Alloy 6B is available in the forms of plate, bar, sheet, and fabricated shapes.

Properties shown are for sheet and plate up to 1.0" thick and for round bar up to 3.5" diameter. |
Alloy 6B should be preheated and maintained at 1000°F (35 8°C) to prevent cracking during welding and then still air cooled. Fixturing which would chill the weld rapidly should not be used.
Alloy 6B are readily joined to other materials by brazing. All forms of Alloy 6B surface dirt such as paint, ink, oil, chemical residues, etc., must be removed from the mating parts by etching, solvent scrubbing, degreasing, or other means.
