Delivery statusA387 Gr.5 Cl.1 steel plate should be heat treated: annealing, or normalizing and tempering. When the buyer allows, the cooling can be accelerated by blowing in air or quenching, and then tempering
The low tempering temperature of A387 Gr.5 Cl.1 steel plate should be: 705℃
The materials supplied according to ASTM A387 shall meet the requirements of A20/A20M standards. These requirements include test and re-inspection methods and steps, allowable deviations in size and weight, quality and defect trimming, marking, shipment, etc.
In addition to marking according to the requirements of A20/A20M standard, when applicable, each A387 Gr.5 Cl.1 steel plate should be clearly printed or stamped according to its order thickness: the letters A (annealed), N (positive Fire + Tempering) and Q (Accelerated Cooling + Tempering)
