Q460C steel weldability

What is the Q460C steel ?
Q460C steel under GB∕T 1591-2018 standard is a high strength low alloy steel material.
Q—The first character of the Chinese Pinyin of "Qufu" for the yield strength of steel;
460—Yield strength value, unit MPa;
C—The quality grade is D grade (the grade is divided into C, D, E).
When the customer the Q460C low alloy steel plate with direction performance, add the symbol representing the thickness direction (Z direction) performance level after the above-mentioned grade, for example: Q460CZ15.
 
Q460C steel weldability
Q460C steel appropriately increases the content of microalloying elements on the basis of ensuring low carbon equivalent. Good welding performance requires low carbon equivalent of Q460C low alloy steel, and the increase of microalloying elements increases the strength of steel while also increasing the carbon equivalent of steel. Fortunately, the added carbon equivalent is very small, so it will not affect the weldability of the steel.
