Steel production and inventories fell in March

A few days ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology cited statistics from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association that the daily output of key iron and steel companies fell in March, and the overall inventory has decreased but is still at a relatively high level.

In terms of production, the cumulative average daily production of iron, crude steel, and steel products by main steel companies in March was 1.824 million tons, 1.695 million tons, and 1.766 million tons, down 2.1%, 3.1%, and 1.7% respectively. In terms of enterprise inventory, in late March, the key statistics of steel enterprises' steel inventories were 18.067 million tons, a decrease of 3.342 million tons from the highest inventory in early March, a decrease of 15.6%.
