Global crude steel output grows 3.4% in 2019
The global crude steel output in 2019 reached 1.869 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. In 2019, except for Asia and the Middle East, crude steel production in other regions decreased year-on-year.
Asia's crude steel output in 2019 was 1,341.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%. China's crude steel output in 2019 was 996.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%. China's share of global crude steel production rose from 50.9% in 2018 to 53.3% in 2019. India's crude steel output in 2019 was 111.2 million tons, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year.
