USITC Ruling to Impose Import Tariff on Large diameter welded pipes form China and India

The Reuters news in Washington, The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has ruled that US relevant domestic producers have been damaged by trade of certain
large-diameter welded pipes products imported from China and India on Thursday, Dec. 6. This punnitive tariffs will be valid for five years.
The Commerce Department said earlier that due to the subsidy and dumping behavior of the above-mentioned products, then it was decided to impose punitive tariffs on it to protect the interests of US domestic manufacturing companies.
The USITC has ruled finally that US manufacturing companies suffered substantial damage and reaffirmed the legality and validity of the punitive tariffs imposed by the Commerce Department.
At the request of some privately-held US domestic producers, the United States began investigating certain imported pipes in March this year. The survey covered welded carbon and alloy steel pipe products with diameters greater than 16 inches (about 406.4 mm).
The USITC has also pointed out that the investigation did not find any significant damage to the US domestic industry caused by stainless steel pipes imported from China and India.
