A302 Gr.A normalized steel plate, under ASTM A302/A302M standard, is a kind of manganese-molybdenum alloy steel for welded boilers and pressure vessels. ASTM A302 Gr.A pressure vessel plates 2 inch [50mm] and under in thickness are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition. The plates may be ordered normalized, normalized and tempered, or stress relieved. ASTM A302 Gr.A plates over 2 inch [50mm] in thickness shall be normalized or normalized and tempered.

Note: the maximum thickness of A302 Gr.A plates is limited only by the capacity of the chemical composition to meet the specified mechanical properties requirements. The minimum thickness is limited to 0.25inch [6.5mm].
