What are the differences between 20#seamless steel pipe and 20G seamless steel pipe

What are the differences between 20#seamless steel pipe and 20G seamless steel pipe

20#seamless steel pipe and 20G seamless steel pipe are both carbon structural steels with an average carbon content of 0.20%. There are big differences between 20#seamless steel pipe and 20G seamless steel pipe in terms of implementation standards, chemical composition, mechanical properties and prices.

1. Different implementation standards

20#seamless steel pipe is a general steel pipe. There are three standards for its implementation: GB8162, GB8163, and GB3087. Different standards have different uses.

20G seamless steel pipe is a high-pressure pipe, and its implementation standard is GB5310.

2. Different uses

20#seamless steel pipe GB8162 standard is used for general structure seamless steel pipe, 20#seamless steel pipe GB8163 standard is used for conveying fluid seamless steel pipe, 20#seamless steel pipe GB3087 standard is used for low and medium pressure boiler seamless steel pipe.

20G seamless steel pipe is widely used in high-pressure steam boilers and pipelines.
