There are many types of stainless steel, which can be divided into several categories according to their organizational structure at room temperature:
1. Austenitic type (300 series, chromium-nickel): such as 304, 321, 316, 310, etc. 200 is a low-nickel, cheap and economical stainless steel, which is also austenitic;
2. Martensite or ferrite type (400 series): such as 430, 420, 410, etc.; austenite type is non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, while martensite or ferrite is magnetic.
Hardware products should consider their rust resistance, hardness, processing performance, etc. 201, 202, 301, 304, 316 are all improved in order in terms of rust resistance, heat resistance and toughness.
The corresponding density of 202 304 316 is: 7.74 7.93 7.98. 316 stainless steel plate is a brand under American standards. It is stainless, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant steel. It is austenitic stainless steel and is better than 304 stainless steel. The national standard (GB) is 0Cr17Ni12Mo2.
Commonly used stainless steel plates are divided into two types: 201 and 304. Among them, 304 stainless steel plates are the most widely used as stainless steel heat-resistant steel and are austenitic stainless steel. The 400 series is martensitic stainless steel, the 304 stainless steel is non-magnetic, and the 400 series is magnetic. But why some 304 magnets can attract iron? Because the iron magnets can feel micromagnetism, it is no problem (austenite may also have micromagnetism when it is cold processed or smelted improperly). Compared with 400 series, 304 has a higher nickel content, about 8-10%.
