As we all know, the steel plate is easy to rust after being placed for a long time, which not only affects the appearance, but also affects the price of the steel plate. So what should be done after the steel plate is rusted?
1. Power tool rust removal
Power tool rust removal refers to the use of compressed air or the use of electric power to drive the rust removal tool to produce a circular or reciprocating motion. When in contact with the surface of the steel plate, it uses its friction and impact to remove rust, oxide scale, etc. The rust removal efficiency and quality of power tools are several streets away from pure manual work, and it is also a commonly used rust removal method in general painting projects.
When encountering rainy, snowy, foggy or humid weather, the surface of the steel should be covered with primer to prevent rusting. If the rust has returned before the primer is applied, the rust should be removed again and the primer should be applied in time.
2. Projectile descaling
Projection rust removal refers to the use of the effect of inhaling abrasive in the center of the impeller of the projectile and projecting the abrasive at the tip of the blade to achieve high-speed impact and increase friction to carry out the rust removal of steel plates.
3. Jet rust removal
The spray derusting method is to use compressed air to spray the abrasive to the surface of the steel plate at a high speed, and remove the oxide scale, rust and dirt through the impact and friction of the abrasive, so as to obtain a certain roughness on the surface of the steel plate, which is conducive to enhancing the paint film of adhesion.
4. Chemical rust removal
Chemical rust removal can also be called pickling rust removal. By using the acid in the pickling solution to react with the metal oxide, the metal oxide is dissolved to remove the oxide and rust on the steel surface.
There are two general pickling methods: ordinary pickling and comprehensive pickling. Steel is easily oxidized by air after pickling, and must be passivated to improve its rust resistance.
Passivation treatment refers to a method used to extend the rust recovery time of the steel plate after pickling, so as to form a protective film on the surface of the steel, thereby improving its anti-rust performance.
According to the specific construction conditions, different treatment methods can be used. Generally, after pickling the steel plate, it should be washed with hot water immediately to neutrality, and then passivated. In addition, steel can also be washed with water immediately after pickling, then neutralized by adding 5% sodium carbonate solution, washed with water to clean the alkali solution, and finally passivated.
5. Flame rust removal
Flame rust removal of steel plate refers to removing the rust attached to the surface of the steel plate after heating with a wire brush after the flame heating operation. Before removing the rust on the surface of the steel plate, the thicker rust layer attached to the surface of the steel plate should be removed first, and then the rust should be removed by heating with a flame.
