Q345R steel yield strength

Q345R steel is a special plate for pressure vessels with a yield strength of 340MPa. It has good comprehensive mechanical properties and process properties. Phosphorus and sulfur content is slightly lower than that of low-alloy high-strength steel Q345 (16Mn) steel. In addition to higher tensile strength and elongation requirements than Q345 (16Mn) steel, impact toughness is also required. It is currently the most widely used steel plate for pressure vessels in China.
 
The Q345R steel carbon content is about 0.4%, and the weldability is excellent. Except for large-thick steel plates and welding under very low ambient temperature, there is generally no need for preheating and strict control of heat input to control welding cold cracks. Therefore, Q345R is not easy to produce welding cold cracks under normal welding conditions. Measures to prevent cold cracks include: using low-hydrogen type welding rod, strictly drying, storage temperature of 350-400 ℃, ready to use; use stronger specifications, etc., reduce the content of martensite in the weld and increase its austenite For the content of the body, select a reasonable welding sequence to reduce welding deformation and welding stress; perform hydrogen elimination heat treatment after welding.
