ASTM A242 Type 1 supplier

ASTM A242 specification is made for low alloy steel with high strength, it has good atmoSPHEric corrosion resistance, some applications has shown that it has better corrosion resistance than ASTM A36 steel plate and ASTM A572 Grade 50. The same as weathering steel, it can be used in unpainted condition for the corrosion stops naturally and become a protective layer.

ASTM A242 has 2 grades: Type 1 and Type 2, while type 1 is the most used structural steel grade. Usually it is produced to be hot rolled state, it is suitable for cutting, forming, drilling and machining, grinding.

These ASTM A242 Type 1 are produced from alloys rich in nickel, chromium, and copper. In addition, it has excellent self-protecting properties by which it can stay stable in any temperature environment. All the alloy elements and atmospheric elements combine to form a protective layer on the plates.
