ASTM A202 Grade A is categorized as Alloy Steel. It is composed of (in weight percentage) 0.17% Carbon (C), 1.05-1.40% Manganese (Mn), 0.035% Phosphorus (P), 0.04% Sulfur (S), 0.60-0.90% Silicon (Si), 0.35-0.60% Chromium (Cr), and the base metal Iron (Fe). Another common designation of ASTM A202 Grade A alloy steel is UNS K11742. A202 steel specification covers chromium-manganese-silicon alloy steel plates, intended particularly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels.
This standard covers steel A202Gr A and A202Gr B.These plates are widely used in the fabrication of boilers and pressure vessels in industries such as shipbuilding, petrochemical and manufacturing. ASTM A202 Grade A(A202GRA) Pressure Vessel And Boiler Steel Plate are also used in Pressure Vessel,Boiler,Storage Tanks and Heat Exchanger in Oil,Gas Project.
