65Mn hot rolled steel heat treatment
65Mn steel is a special steel for springs. 65Mn Hot-rolled steel is delivered in heat-treated or non-heat-treated condition, and cold-drawn steel is delivered in heat-treated condition. 65Mn spring steel requires higher strength and fatigue limit, and is generally used under quenching temperature and tempering conditions to obtain higher elastic limit.
65Mn hot rolled steel characteristics:
1. After heat treatment and cold drawing hardening, the strength is high, and it has certain resistance and plasticity; under the same appearance and thorough hardening, the fatigue limit is appropriate to the alloy tension spring. However, the hardenability is poor, and it is mainly used for smaller-scale springs, such as pressure-regulating springs, force-measuring springs, round and square spiral springs on general machinery or drawn into steel wires as springs on small machinery
2. 65Mn manganese improves hardenability,φ12mm steel can be hardened in oil, and the appearance of decarburization tends to be smaller than that of silicon steel. The comprehensive mechanical properties after heat treatment are better than carbon steel, but it has overheating sensitivity and temper brittleness.
3. The exterior color of 65mn full-hard tension spring steel plate is blue and silvery white.
4. The 65mn full-hard tension spring steel plate has high yield strength and fatigue strength, and good stability against tempering.
5. The 65mn full-hard tension spring steel plate has outstanding mechanical properties, especially excellent elasticity and wear resistance, and has enough resistance and plasticity to avoid sudden brittle fracture under the effect of impact.

Use of 65Mn special steel:
65Mn steel plate has higher strength, hardness, elasticity and hardenability than 65# steel, and has a tendency to overheat sensitivity and temper brittleness, and water quenching has a tendency to form cracks. Machinability in annealed state is fair, cold deformation plasticity is low, and weldability is poor. Plate tension springs under medium load, spiral tension springs with a diameter of 7-20mm, tension spring washers and tension spring rings.
