ASTM A387 grade 12 Chrome Moly steel is a boiler plate steel according to the ASTM/ASME Standard A387/A387M. A387  Grade 12 is designed for use in pressure vessels and heat exchangers where there is an elevated temperature. It is described as an alloyed high temperature pressure vessel steel.
The addition of chrome and molybdenum in the steel making makes this plates suitable for use at high temperatures whilst also giving them some corrosion resistant properties.
