ASTM A387 Grade 5 steel is an alloy chromium molybdenum pressure vessel steel plate designed for use in boilers, pressure vessels and heat exchangers at high temperatures.
ASTM A387 Grade 5 is defined by the ASTM/ASME A387/A387M standard differs from the other grades covered by the standard in the chromium and molybdenum content of the steel.
