Q235 hot rolled steel plate and cold rolled steel sheet distinction: hot-rolled plate hardness is low, easy processing, has good extensibility. The cold rolled steel sheet has high hardness, processing is relatively difficult, but it is not easy deformation, strength is high.
The strength difference between Q235 hot rolled plate and cold rolled sheet:
The strength of Hot rolled plate is relatively low, the surface quality is not very good (oxidation, low roughness), but the plasticity is good, generally is produced in medium thickness plate.
Cold rolled sheet: high strength, high hardness, high surface finish, generally is produced in sheet, can be used as a stamping plate/sheet.
For hot rolled steel plate, the mechanical properties is far less than cold one, also is inferior to the forging processing one, but has good toughness and ductility. Due to a certain degree of strain hardening, the toughness of Cold rolled steel sheet is low, but can reach better yield ratio, can be used for cold bending spring pieces and parts.
The thick steel plate can only be produced by hot rolled, rolling into a thin plate, for cold rolling.
Hot rolled steel plate is divided into thick plate( thickness more than 4 mm) and thin sheet (thickness 0.35 ~ 4 mm).Cold rolled steel sheet only has the thin one(thickness 0.2 ~ 4 mm).
Compared with the state of hot rolling, the metal material in cold rolling state has high dimensional accuracy, good surface quality, low surface roughness and higher mechanical properties. But the cold rolled material is vulnerable to corrosion or rust, so its packaging, storage and transportation have more strict requirements. They need to keep in the warehouse, and should pay attention to the temperature and humidity control in the warehouse.
