Standard ASTM A514/A514M-14 is a quenched and tempered high-strength weldable steel plate. ASTM A514 high strength steel is mainly used in places requiring high tensile strength and high yield, lifting gears for engineering vehicles, racks for offshore platforms, etc.

There are eight different grades under ASTM A514: A514 Grade A, A514 Grade B, A514 Grade E, A514 Grade F, A514 Grade H, A514 Grade P, A514 Grade Q and A514 Grade S. All the A514 steel grades are not available in a maximum thickness of 150mm. They are limited in the same of hardness and mechanical properties requirements, but all the grades have different chemical composition.

ASTM A514 high strength steel plates and sheets are mainly used for welding bridges and other structures with thickness less than or equal to 150mm quenched and tempered alloy structural steel plate.
