At the same time, exports of coated sheets increased by 182% to 62,000 tons in the first five months, but consumption fell by 13% to 670,000 tons, and imports fell by 9% to 126,000 tons.

Rebar exports in the first five months increased by 92% to 507,000 tons. Consumption increased by 9% to 2.53 million tons, which is the only product that has seen growth in finished product consumption.

In the first five months, Iranian billet export growth slowed down compared with the previous four months, but slab exports accelerated and direct reduced iron changed from negative to positive (see Kallanish's previous report).
