2B Surface 201 Stainless Steel Sheets to ASTM A240

2B surface 201 stainless steel sheet is part of the 200 series of austenitic stainless steels. Originally developed to conserve nickel, this family of stainless steels is characterized by low-nickel content. 2B surface 201 stainless steel to ASTM A240 belongs to chromium stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip for pressure vessels and for general applications including architectural, building, construction, and aesthetic applications.

2B surface 201 stainless steel sheet to ASTM A240 is not hardened by heat treatment and is annealed at 1850-1950°F (1010-1066°C), followed by water quenching or rapid air cooling.
2B surface A240 201 stainless steel sheet is used to produce a range of household appliances, including sinks, cooking utensils, washing machines, windows, and doors. It is also used in automotive trim, decorative architecture, railway cars, trailers, and clamps. 201 ss sheet is not recommended for structural outdoor applications because of its susceptibility to pitting and crevice corrosion.
